ABOUT THE COURT

Tbilisi Court of Appeals was established on 1 November 2005. It is the court of second instance in the Georgian court system.

The jurisdiction of the Tbilisi Court of Appeals covers Eastern Georgia. It hears appeals against judgments delivered by courts of first instance.

Seventy judges fulfil their judicial responsibilities at the Tbilisi Court of Appeals: 17 judges in the Chamber for Criminal Cases, 30 in the Chamber for Civil Cases, 18 in the Chamber for Administrative Cases, and 5 in the Investigative Panel.

Two hundred and one public servants perform administrative functions and assist the judges in carrying out their duties.
