The Chamber of Criminal Cases of Tbilisi Court of Appeals has changed the judgement of Tbilisi City Court and imprisonment penalty has been reduced by 8 years for the defendant I.L..
I.L. was charged in homicide with aggravated assault (Article 109 (paragraph III) of Criminal Code of Georgia).
By the fact of the matter, I.L. injuried S.G. with the blunt thing in exchange office, misappropriated his money and absconded. As a result S.G. died.
At the first instance this crime was qualified as a homicide with selfinterest (Article 109 (paragraph III) of Criminal Code of Georgia) and imposed the imprisonment for 18 years.
After appealing the judgement, Tbilisi Court of Appeals changed the qualification of the crime and I.L. was convicted in homicide crime (Article 108) and he was imposed the imprisonment for 10 years.
